Mental Health Awareness Week 2017

Mental Health Awareness Week 2017

Mental Health Awareness Week 2017

8th – 14th May 2017 was Mental Health Awareness Week. Domestic abuse can have an enormous effect on your mental health. Port Talbot and Afan Women’s Aid work in partnership with local organisations, such as Mind Neath Port Talbot, to support women with mental health problems who have been impacted by Domestic Abuse.

It is now well accepted that abuse (both in childhood and in adult life) is often the main factor in the development of depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders, and may lead to sleep disturbances, self-harm, suicide and attempted suicide, eating disorders and substance misuse.
We held an information stall at Neath Port Talbot CVS’s Mental Health Event at Baglan Community Church on 19th of May to promote our services.  For more information on local services and self help guides available to help you please Click Here >>>
